About Me 2017-07-24T11:12:01+00:00

Inês Sales

I am, above all, a human being who cares about the welfare of others. I really like “people”. As Aristotle once said “man is a social animal”, so I identify myself as a “persona”. We can’t be good psychologists locked in our own offices only. For me, it’s this fascinating sociability that makes us “something”, but at the same time which overwhelms and constrains us too. Therefore, questions about media-oriented relationships and the difficulty we have sometimes to deepen them and get them where we want them to be, are on the agenda nowadays.
These fine words may even seem very politically correct ones. Perhaps. However, after all, who am I as a professional if I didn’t notice all these aspects?
Being a psychologist has allowed me to be in touch with many situations, sometimes difficult ones and other times fleeting ones. And in many, many, many different ways. But  has also given me the ability to be in touch with human volatility in its essence.
For me, psychology is life; it’s everyday, daily life. By words, feelings and through empathy and honesty for those who come to me. And that means being truly there. We cannot exist without others and it is from them that I’ve been learning and improving my work, contributing as well to my inmost being.
